Art Therapy, Shared Values Charter & Portrait

Sometimes words are not enough to describe our experiences, our work journeys, or the barriers we face. Art offers another way to explore these realities with honesty and care.

Through guided art sessions, individuals, teams, and organizations can reflect on identity, culture, disability, gender, accessibility, and belonging. This process supports open dialogue, builds understanding, and strengthens inclusion in the workplace and in the community.

Art helps people reconnect with who they are and how they want to work together, often in ways that conversation alone cannot reach.

Personal, Teams and Organizations

Art therapy and creative expression sessions invite individuals, teams, and organizations to pause, reflect, and prioritize care as they explore experiences that may be difficult to express in words alone.

Creating art together encourages connection, strengthens understanding and helps participants build safe, inclusive and compassionate environments where differences are honoured and a shared purpose is reinforced. No prior art experience is needed, and the process supports emotional insight, resilience and meaningful collaboration.

Our calendar of events lists scheduled sessions on set dates, allowing participants to plan and register in advance (TBC)

Connect and Collaborate

Why art matters in IDEEAS

  • Art helps people express experiences related to identity, inclusion and belonging that may not surface through discussion alone.

  • Creative activities support psychological safety by allowing participants to explore sensitive topics in a gentle and accessible way.

  • Art encourages reflection on power, privilege and lived experience, which strengthens empathy and understanding across differences.

  • Collaborative artwork reinforces shared commitments to equity, accessibility and anti oppression by making these values visible and tangible.

Creating art together encourages connection, strengthens understanding and helps participants build safe, inclusive and compassionate environments where differences are honoured and a shared purpose is reinforced. No prior art experience is needed, and the process supports emotional insight, resilience and meaningful collaboration.

Using art in IDEEAS reflections creates something entirely new between participants. It becomes a creative expression of our commitment to each other and to the care needs of every person in the group. Participants leave with a personal art piece that reflects their own journey, as well as a collective charter that represents their shared commitments to others.
